Montana Fly Fishing
- Private riverfront lodging on the Clark Fork River
Missoula has never had great on-the-river
lodging that was central enough to allow Missoula anglers to strike
at all our rivers conveniently. Anglers had to choose which
river to concentrate on and give up on all the rest to
get rural lodging. Now you can have it all! Angling convenience
and the kind of front deck atmosphere that is a fitting theater for
the off water lies and legends.
About the
Fly Fishing - This
stretch of the river is what I regard as probably some of the best
dry fly fishing in America - in the summer months, as the sun goes
down, an immense Caddis Hatch emerges and
our lower river
rainbows go on a drunken spree feed. If
you are into dry fly fishing, this is something that you have to
experience in your life. It's that simple.

The Riverfront House is tucked into
a great turn of river on the Lower Clark Fork river only 15
minutes from Missoula on a private 120 acres of river
bottom. Elk,
Bighorn Sheep, deer, birds, and sipping Montana trout
are your only neighbors. The house is an updated custom vacation
home designed for entertainment and breathtaking views. Great
fishing is right off the deck or take a short walk and
you could make a day of it. If you have your own boat this
also has a private put in/take out that is seven miles from the
nearest public launch. As you unwind from chasing your Montana
trout there isn't a prettier piece of the world to enjoy a drink
and a cigar as you lounge out the rest of the Montana evening.

Missoula is the world's
best rising fishing complex. No where else can you push a dry fly with
utter confidence starting in March and never have to go beneath the
surface again until November.

Look in our guide boats. You won't see
strike indicators and double beaded nymph rigs rigged up in the rod holsters
ready to be handed off to our guests. You WILL see many concoctions of
different dry fly patterns that fool trout, such as: parachutes of all
shades, CDC on scud hooks, spinners, snowshoe emergers, Wulffs, Trudes,
Big Foamies, Little Foamies, Feth Hoppers, Half Down Stoneflies, Low
Pro Stones, and some secret guide flies that just seem to make them eat
it. So if you want to SEE trout come to your fly, then Missoula Fly Fishing
is for YOU!
